Carers Respite, Arts Health Activities, Lancashire – Clitheroe Library
June 7 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pmFree
My Colourful Memories CIC offers creative therapeutic arts health activities to support people living with dementia through conversation, memories, and art. The monthly sessions provide therapeutic activities for people living with dementia, offering their carers a short break. Those caring for people with dementia are welcome to join in. Instead of art therapy, this is an arts-health based practice. Arts health is not a therapy but a series of therapeutic activities that stimulate calmness and relaxation and create meaningful connections and conversations.
Additionally, we offer a wide variety of free activities that participants can take home and continue at their leisure. As a result, participants are excited to present their work to the group, encouraging them to attend further sessions. Besides being fun, the sessions provide good company and conversation about the past and present. It aims to be relaxed and enjoyable for all. You don’t have to be super creative to join. Often, sessions include a good old sing song, fun quizzes, and colouring and painting activities. Cakes, biscuits, coffee, and tea available too.
