Carers Respite, Arts Health Activities, Lancashire – Clitheroe Library
March 7 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Together with Lancashire County Libraries and the Community Fund, we provide accessible carers groups in Lancashire. Our monthly sit-in service will allow ‘carers’ in East Lancashire to receive respite from My Colourful Memories C.I.C.
The sessions will provide caregivers with a two-hour break each month through therapeutic activities. It is a fantastic opportunity for caregivers to relax for a few hours, and we welcome anyone with a diagnosis of dementia.
We want to create a small community in Clitheroe where people can share experiences and relax through therapeutic activities.
Participants will be able to participate in the monthly activities for free. Activities will include crafts, painting, and art, which will focus on things, places, or people that trigger “positive” memories; the goal is to stimulate “positive” emotions. Some examples are making memory boxes and creating scrapbooks that people can share with those with dementia.
Participants can work on their projects monthly, and they take their creations home at the end of each session. Also, this provides additional health benefits outside of the sessions; carers and service users can use the book in their care and at home.
We limit the number of participants per session to 10 to ensure a safe environment. To reserve your place, you can obtain a free ticket here or email events@mycolourfulmemories.co.uk.
