Hyndburn Award winners for 2022
The Hyndburn Business Awards 2022 had received nominations from 319 businesses based in Hyndburn, Lancashire, as of 21 April.
On 12 May 2022, My Colourful Memories CIC was announced as a finalist in two categories. The Creative Business Award and the Made in Hyndburn Award. As a creative Hyndburn-based company, we were delighted to hear that we were selected for the two awards. In 2018, My Colourful Memories CIC won the Creative Business Award and was a finalist in the Made in Hyndburn Award. We were thrilled to hear that we were finalists again in both categories.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we worked with schools and diversified our business to reach out to people living in isolation in Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley. As a result of innovation, and collaborative relationships with local schools, volunteer services, adult day centres, and community organisations, My Colorful Memories CIC created connections with people during difficult times.
The Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Lancashire, held the award ceremony on the 16th of June, hosting an array of established large businesses seated at tables. When we entered the room, you immediately recognised our company’s accomplishments.

Developing ‘My Colourful Memories: Direct‘ was part of the company’s diversification to continue supporting people living in isolation in our community. In essence, we knew that more and more resources were needed than ever before, but we had to come up with a way to connect them with people safely.
As part of the project, schoolchildren created pictures that their older generation could colour in at home. Children who were 7 years old drew pictures that were coloured in by 87-year-olds. This scheme ran for almost 12 months, 2020 -2021.
In Hyndburn, we produce all aspects of our business, including our colouring books, activity resources, projects, and website development. Consequently, we were thrilled to be named finalists for the second time for the Made in Hyndburn award.
The announcement that we won the creative business award for 2022 was an incredible moment for our team. Also, the award was sponsored by Carers Link Lancashire, a respected, successful and well-known charity that has been operating and delivering services and support to unpaid carers in East Lancashire for over 20 years.
Receiving the award from Carers Link Lancashire was an honour and a significant milestone for our company. Furthermore, we were finalists in the Made in Hyndburn award, replicating our success in 2018.
