Promoting Art Health in Hyndburn: Picture Left to right – Alison Redmond – Accrington Tesco Community Champion – Michelle Jones – Cafe Manger and Neil Floyd – Managing Director of My Colourful Memories CIC.
We will be holding eight fortnightly events, the first one is on the 12th July, 2 pm – 4 pm in the cafe area of the Tesco store, in Accrington, Eagle Street.
The colouring activities are designed for people to share stories and to meet new people, this creating a fortnightly social event that is accessible to everyone, which brings the Hyndburn community together.
Because the activity uses long term memory it becomes an ideal activity for carers and people with early to mid stages of Dementia, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
Dementia affects all communities and we wish to ensure all can attend, encourage all communities to and gain from our activities. Issues such as isolation, if not addressed can escalate into life-threatening mental health conditions such as depression.
